Each year, we celebrate the agricultural awakening of the Bay State by emphasizing the importance of maple production. "March is Massachusetts Maple Month" is a month-long celebration of "all things maple" in Massachusetts. Many local sugarhouses will be open for tours and pancake breakfasts.

A kickoff event at a host sugarhouse with the Commissioner of Agriculture participating in a ceremonial tree tapping begins each season, as newspapers and TV stations cover the month-long event.

The 2010 Maple Month kick-off event is at 10 AM Friday March 5th, at Williams Farm Sugarhouse on Routes 5&10 in Deerfield. For more information, call the farm at 413-773-5186 or contact the Mass Maple Association at info@massmaple.org.
