We are a small family oriented operation with 200 taps and growing.  Dave has been sugaring since he was a teenager on the family farm in western Massachusetts, and now the tradition continues on in central Mass, although some sap gathering techniques are vastly different than his grandparents would have used.  We use small vacuum pumps in some parts of the sugar bush, using a pump controller system that Mountain Maple produces.  The system allows us to tap trees in remote places where traditional sap buckets cannot be used, thereby opening up new sources of sap for producing our delicious local maple products.  We currently tap a mix of Sugar Maples and Red Maples to yield a unique, flavorful product to enjoy on pancakes or as a natural, locally grown substitute for sugar in cooking or to sweeten coffee or tea.

Generally we are open weekends in mid to late March, weather permitting.  Tours of our sugarbush and high tech pump station are available a short hike from our sugarhouse during our annual Maple Open house.  Please check website and/or our Facebook page (@MountainMapleFarm) page for updates during the season.  Boots are recommended.  We have Maple Syrup for sale in a variety of sizes from pints to half gallons.
